Tiger Connections

Our Tiger energy, our divine feminine, is that part of us that craves connection. Not just surface level connection, but a deep, authentic, connection. True friendships, healthy family bonds and, of course, passionate romantic love.

But in order to achieve that depth of connection, we need to truly let go and open our hearts. And that can be harder than we realize….

I was surprised to learn that unlike most cats, tigers cannot purr. When they want to show that they're feeling happy, they will squint or close their eyes. Tigers don't like surprises, so closing their eyes lowers their critical visual defenses, so they will only intentionally give up their visual advantage when they're feeling safe.

Just like their big cat totem, those dominated by their Tiger energy will withhold their light from the world until they feel like they are safe.  A Tiger may need to feel financially secure, emotionally supported, physically safe or all three before they will let go.

There’s a reason Tigers will have the most fun around a group of old friends; those people they’ve known for years, those friends who know them inside and out and love them deeply, because Tigers feel safe to ‘let go’ in their company.  If a Tiger relaxes, drinks too much and makes a dick of themselves, those old friends know they’re not a bad person, they just had a bad night.  One they will laugh about (many times) in the future.

I recently let go with some new friends. I  let out my karaoke “alter ego”. I was literally rapping & gyrating on the floor of a Chinese restaurant in Palm Beach to a classic Salt n Pepper track in front a group of relatively new friends. Guess what? The world didn’t end. I did have a great f*cking time.

Sometimes we just have to let it all go in order to reach a deeper connection. Try to open up, be yourself, enter a situation with your intention, your open heart and have some  fun.

It’s a catch 22 scenario.  You don’t want to ‘let go’ until you feel safe, but you won’t feel safe until you let go and see that you already are. Yeah you might get hurt, you might feel disappointment, but it won’t break you. You’re a badass f*cking Tiger after all. Sing the Salt n Peppa track.

Sparkle before you feel perfectly safe and watch as people turn their head as you walk by just to catch a glimpse of your light.
